The 2nd Saturday of each month in 2023, novelist and arts activist Ellen Morris Prewitt will be facilitating a writing group in the Writing Room of the famed 100 Men Hall in Bay St. Louis. The Hall is a rare African American landmark still standing on the Mississippi Blues Trail.

The cost is FREE.

Writing gatherings will run 10:00am-1:00pm and include warmup exercises, mini-instruction, and two half-hour guided writing sessions. Ellen, writer-in-residence at the Hall, has twice been nominated for Pushcart Prizes; a story received a Special Mention. She’s a frequent speaker on writing and creativity and has conducted many writing workshops, including facilitating for eight years a weekly writing group of men and women living on the streets. 

The Writing Room gatherings at 303 Union Street in Bay St. Louis are free and open to the public. Please join us in Bay Saint Louis every Second Saturday from 10AM to 1PM at the 100 Men Hall. Please note we will NOT meet the following months: January, May, July and October. Also note, in December, The Writing Room will meet inside the Tin Shed on the 100 Men Hall’s property.
