Listening Room: CAROLINA STORY

The 100 Men Hall will host a listening room for Carolina Story on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 7PM to 9PM. Tickets are $15 in advance online. There will be food for purchase by Big Bertha and a cash/credit bar available.

A husband-and-wife Americana duo, Carolina Story create powerfully atmospheric songs with the combination of their heartfelt stories of love and struggle and the honesty and passion of their vocals. Focusing on the realities of small-town life, their music reflects joy and sorrow in nearly equal measure while stubbornly maintaining that love can overcome it all. While the band began releasing material not long after they formed, they first hit their stride in the studio with 2018's Lay Your Head Down, following that creative breakthrough with 2020's Dandelion. 2023's Colors of My Mind offered a deeply personal song cycle of struggle and change. 

Rachel Dangermond, owner of the 100 Men Hall, said, “We host many musical events at the Hall, but this event will be our first listening room where we invite guests to come hear the power of this duo’s voice and music, while enjoying delicious food and refreshing libations, all in a historical setting.”

Soul food for purchase by Big Bertha’s Kitchen and Catering. Bertha began cooking at four years old and knew at 18 years of age that food was her passion. Bertha and her family owned a full-service restaurant in Slidell, and seven years ago she came to Bay Saint Louis to start her own catering company. Bertha's passion and specialty is soul food, which is why flavor is her main ingredient.
