The event includes amazing live music featuring the Tyron Benoit Band and starring The Monsters at Large on the Tin Shed Porch.
Tyron Benoit hails from Houma, LA where music and culture are plentiful. The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Tyron Benoit’s debut album is without doubt the best swamp-rock album ever to open with a Cure cover. His version of “Just Like Heaven” is surprisingly faithful—even with his accordion taking the familiar guitar and keyboard licks. Overall, Benoit (brother of Tab) works the territory of vintage Zachary Richard or Wayne Toups: hard-driving, arena-ready rock that keeps the Louisiana elements up front and the accordion high in the mix.
The coast's top musicians come together to form The Monsters at Large. The band originally grew from a group of musicians who were members of The Dock of the Bay Music Company. They were assembled by David "Snake" Hooker to play for one of his legendary birthday parties. The Monsters At Large harness the musical talent of some of the Gulf Coast's best - Tommy Moran on guitar, Sam Brady on keyboards, Chuck Lofton on vocals, Casey Lipe on saxophone, Regan Taylor on bass, Lee Seal on percussions and Gene Moran on drums.
For just $25, you could taste gumbo from some of the best chefs and gumbo cooks the country has to offer, while supporting a historical landmark with cool programming that elevates our community all while listening to some fabulous live music. Rock 'N' Roux teams are comprised of local, regional and nationwide businesses and organizations. The event is a great way to enjoy some of the finest gumbo while connecting with friends in the community - all for a great cause!
Rock 'N' Roux tickets can be purchased through the 100MenHall.com or they can be purchased at the entrance. Drinks will be for sale at a cash/credit bar, along with a 50/50 raffle, and awards will be given out.
