DAY 177 Harry J. Farve photographed exclusively for the 100 Men Hall People Project (100MHPP).

The first time I came to the Hall was when the Hundred Men were an organization and I came to bring someone’s dues, I don’t remember who. My parents brought me here for different functions. They had benevolent association called the Children of Friendship and I was a member and so we had to go to meetings here to keep from paying a nickel for being absent. My mom had eight children. When I was in high school they would have dances here on Monday - that was the day. I got to know Ernie K Doe, because after he would come perform here, when I was a senior in High School, he played at the Pass in Dixie Hall and from there he performed in Washington DC and we took a tour in DC and we got to see him. I got to know him, and Bobby Lacour, and Art and Aaron Neville. Back in the 80s, when the building was getting run down, they had photos in here of the manless wedding. Elvira Farve, my mother, and aunts and cousins were all in the manless wedding. Peter Farve used to run the Krack and book shows here, but I was too young to see them. Guitar Bo started off here as the Claudettes
