BSL Film Festival @ 100 Men Hall, January 2&3, 2026
Bay St. Louis, MS—The power-house documentaries: NATCHEZ, THE INQUISITOR and GREGG ALLMAN: MUSIC OF MY SOUL headline the 2026 edition of the Bay St. Louis Film Festival, January 2-3 at the legendary 100 Men Hall. Tickets for both days is $35 available online or at the door at www.100menhall.com
NATCHEZ [Best Documentary Feature/2025 Tribeca Film Festival] examines the river city's reckoning with a romanticized past, an uncertain future and the debt it owes to the descendants of slavery. A cinematic portrait of a tourist town at a crossroads, NATCHEZ follows an array of historic homeowners, activists and tour guides as they tell their versions of the past, and clash over who gets to tell America’s story. New Orleans based producer Darcy McKinnon and film subjects will be in attendance.
THE INQUISITOR chronicles the meteoric rise of Barbra Jordan, the first Southern Black woman to join Congress. Famous for her role in the televised Watergate hearings, her story offers a blueprint for uniting a divided
America through a turbulent political era. By turns intellectual, practical and hysterical, Jordan came to be recognized by her Texas political colleagues as just another "good ole boy." Director Angela Lee Tucker [professor/University of Mississippi] will be in attendance.
GREGG ALLMAN: MUSIC OF MY SOUL offers emotional, humorous and rollicking insights into Gregg's journey from a childhood scarred by his father's murder to the heights of Southern rock and his late-life sobriety, exploring grief, addiction, love and the racially charged American South through his transcendent music. A remarkable tale and perfect for100 Men Hall since Gregg and Duane Allman schooled themselves in the blues by many of the historic artists who performed in Bay St. Louis's historic Chitlin Circuit venue.
The short documentaries INSIDE MAN and ROLLING FILM, ROCKING HISTORY will be presented by award-winning Texas based filmmakers/scholars Paul Stekler and Bart Weiss.
"This is our third edition of the festival and it's a breakthrough year of truly remarkable films that deliver a highly entertaining punch," said festival director and filmmaker Steve Mims. “Watching great films and discussing how they’re made with people who have done the work is an inspiration for creating new work…and it’s fun.”
The Friday-Saturday festival offers food and drink [cash/credit bar] and bonfire wrap party with live music.
