Martha Whitney Butler

DAY 036 Martha Whitney Butler photographed exclusively for the 100 Men Hall People Project (100MHPP).

I first heard about the Hall because I knew Kerrie and knew they had bought it. I grew with the Hall. I was young, and as the Hall grew, I grew because it allowed me and my husband and my friends so many fun opportunities. It thrilled me to be in an environment that was fueled by good music, good times, and good people. I loved seeing all women The Pink Magnolia, a Japanese blues band. I loved them so much. The best time was at the Disco Tarts and Tramps ball. It was the third one. We were the Raw Oyster girls by then. We did two burlesque shows and a TV show that was cool called the Illegal Eater, which was filmed here. My husband did the food for it, he was the caterer and I was the hostess with the mostest. Steven Page from the Barenaked Ladies got up on stage and played for us and my husband and I were so tired but we propped each other up to dance.
